When plugging in my headphones, the Alsa Speaker channel is muted in favor of Headphones. However, the headphones are actually playing the audio from the Speaker channel.

The current solution is to tie a Shortcut for Super+Shift+A (short for Audio) and run a script that greps the list of audio cards and turns the Speaker audio channel for HDA Intel PCH to max, returning audio control to the user's global volume slider
